Computer and Technological Terms – Simplified For Better Understanding

Sometimes computer terms can be difficult to understand as they are not explained in simple enough text. The following are a few computer terms with a more simplified definition for the beginner.

Hardware: Physical parts of your computer or things that can be attached to your computer such as the tower, the casing, speakers, keyboards, monitors, microphones, and things of that nature. Basically anything that is hard and your computer can wear it.

Software: Programs that run on your computer and tell it what to do and how to act.

Mouse: A small device that fits in the palm of your hand and is used to point to things on the computer screen.

E-mail: Mail such as letters, notes, and messages that are sent electronically rather than by postman. E-mail is delivered instantly.

Surfing: Going around to different web sites and viewing the content.

Malware: A program that is designed to do very bad things to your computer such as stop it from running. Malware can be accidentally downloaded on porn sites and illegitimate websites. Be careful when surfing the internet
